SCROLL DOWN FOR DETAILS OF THE NEXT SESSION TO WHICH ALL ARE WELCOME...

After the success of its first two-day exhibition session, another exhibition about the longer history of Brixton is being planned for 2011. In preparation, the group is making an inventory of the vast amount of important material held by local interested people. Again we are looking for people with pictures, plans, documents etc. on all aspects of Brixton's history e.g. transport, farming, buildings, the River Yealm, the brickworks & quarrying and market gardening, the Feoffee Trust, St. Mary's Church and churchyard, the Chapel, the school, manor houses and cottages etc. - anything which can illustrate the rich history of Brixton. You may have some unique information! Details of this follow below, too.

The group plans has set up a Brixton History Group with regular meetings during 2011 with speakers and visits and also to make links with other history groups. Watch this space for further details! For details, ring Elaine Tapper on 01752 880144.
